A civil servant's civil service may be terminated when they are called up for fixed-term active military or alternative service.
According to Modern.az, this issue is reflected in the proposed amendment to the Law "On Civil Service", which was brought up for discussion at today's plenary session of the Milli Majlis.
In this case, the civil servant will be paid a benefit equal to three times their average monthly state salary. With the exception of the liquidation of a state p, persons who served in the relevant state p until being called up for fixed-term active military service, if they apply to fill their previous position no later than 60 calendar days after being discharged from military service, will be appointed to their previous or an analogous position in that p. For civil servants who served in a civil service position immediately before being called up for fixed-term active military service and were re-appointed to a civil service position immediately after being discharged to the reserve, the period they spent in fixed-term active military service will be taken into account when calculating their length of service.
The draft was put to a vote and adopted in its third reading.
