"It would be better if, as in a number of developed countries, a minimum wage were determined by sectors in our country as well. In some sectors, wages are quite high. Naturally, determining the minimum wage at the same level across the country affects wage payments in those sectors. We have determined the main criteria related to the minimum wage."
Modern.az reports that MP Vugar Bayramov said this at today's meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Labor and Social Policy.
"I would like to suggest that in all cases, we consider or discuss the differentiated determination of the minimum wage amount for production areas and sectors. If deemed appropriate, in the next stage, the determination of minimum wage amounts for production areas and sectors, rather than a single, i.e., fixed minimum wage amount for the entire country, can be implemented," the MP stated.
