“The provocative actions of a group of traitors who attempted to forcibly enter the hotel where President Ilham Aliyev was staying during his visit to the USA were professionally prevented by the employees of the President's Security Service and the US police through prompt intervention. This incident once again demonstrates the high level of professionalism of Azerbaijan's state security agencies and the important steps taken to ensure the security of our country's leader”.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by MP Azer Badamov at today's plenary session of the Milli Majlis.
He noted that when the head of state is on a foreign visit, he acts not in his personal capacity, but as a symbol of the nation's will. He represents our flag, our sovereignty, and our statehood. Every provocative step taken against him is, in fact, a disrespect directed against the people and the state he represents.
“Because when the head of state is on a foreign visit, he is not just a political figure — he is the supreme symbol representing the will of the people and the sovereignty of the state. Any planned action directed against him is, in fact, an attempt to undermine Azerbaijan's international reputation. Today, the independent policy pursued by the head of the Azerbaijani state, his creation of peace realities in the region, his influence in the world, and his status as a respected Leader with significant weight in Munich, Washington, and other international platforms, worries many. They are accustomed to seeing the Azerbaijani people as an oppressed nation, whose lands are under occupation, and who make calls for the restoration of their violated rights on international platforms. But today, our people walking victorious and with their heads held high has deprived many of sleep.
Some also call these provocateurs representatives of the radical opposition. I believe that the elements committing these provocations can never be opposition. The opposition conducts its struggle in the political arena. But these national traitors act according to scenarios drawn up by chauvinistic Armenian circles and foreign special services. I wouldn't even call them Azerbaijanis. A traitor has neither a nation nor a homeland”.
“Every provocation against our head of state, who is the symbol of the nation's will and the representative of our sovereign state, is not political pressure, but an attempt to infringe upon the dignity of the people. These elements, who have become enemies of our state and nation by sitting under the patronage of certain circles abroad, as well as those who control them, should know that no one can disrupt the national unity and solidarity of our people. Such provocative actions further unite our people closely around their President and make them more resilient” – the MP concluded.
