“Turkey supports the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia and considers it important that this process is based on mutual trust. We believe that peace and prosperity will spread from the South Caucasus to a wider geography. We are confident that Georgia will also benefit from this development. The implemented projects will create benefits not only for one or two countries but for the entire region”.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Fuad Oktay, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, at the tenth trilateral meeting of the foreign affairs committees of the Parliaments of Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Georgia.
He stated that if Armenia's relations with Azerbaijan improve, relations between Turkey and Armenia will also normalize.
“Regarding the normalization of Turkey-Armenia relations, one of the main principles of our policy is to ensure peace with all our neighbors. Within the framework of improving Azerbaijan-Armenia relations, Turkey will also continue the normalization process with Armenia. We believe that this process will contribute to overall prosperity in the South Caucasus”.
