In the Milli Majlis, a number of social issues have been brought back to the agenda.

Modern.az reports that at the meeting of the Human Rights Committee of the Milli Majlis, committee member Arzuxan Alizade stated that the shortage of teachers in the regions remains a serious problem. The deputy noted that, especially in the context of personnel shortages in the regions, the issue of mandatory retirement for teachers and doctors who have reached the age of 65 should be reconsidered. According to him, negative incidents are still encountered in this area.

The deputy also touched upon alimony problems at the meeting. He stated that there are considerable difficulties regarding the payment of alimony in the country, and approximately 70 percent of cases remain unexamined in courts due to objective and subjective reasons.

“It would be good if changes were made to the legislation regarding the establishment of an Alimony Fund.”

The committee member also drew attention to the issue of the status of martyred military personnel. It was stated that applications are received by the committee from soldiers' parents regarding the determination of the status of individuals who lost their lives in military service, and there are certain concerns in this regard.

The deputy noted that one of the important issues to be considered in the future is related to the concept of a large family. ”One of the important issues in the future is for families with 3 or more children to be considered large families. Currently, families in the country have at best 2 children," he said.
