Taking into account the positive experience of foreign countries, the application of concessions in public transport with regard to pensioners, persons with disabilities, pupils and students is proposed.
Modern.az reports that this was reflected in the “Report of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025” discussed at today's meeting of the Milli Majlis.
At the same time, with the aim of stimulating the use of public transport in Baku and thereby minimizing the flow of private cars into the city center, an increase in the number of buses meeting modern standards (including consideration of the acquisition of high-capacity double-decker buses), a reduction of intervals, taking into account intensity (sometimes this period exceeds 10-20 minutes), strengthening control over drivers' professional level and adherence to ethical conduct rules, mandatory provision of ventilation in buses in accordance with weather conditions (the failure to open vents and windows in buses, and simultaneously the non-activation of the ventilation system, causes "justified dissatisfaction due to lack of air" during peak times, even when the weather is cold), as well as the improvement of boarding and alighting rules, considering that these rules cause significant delays for buses and passengers during peak hours, is requested.
