Following the Ombudsman's appeal, 21 convicts were pardoned

Based on the appeals of the Ombudsman, a total of 900 convicts have been pardoned.

Modern.az reports that this was stated by Ombudsman Sabina Aliyeva, who delivered an annual report at the plenary session of the Milli Majlis.

"Considering the appeals of convicts and their family members regarding pardon throughout the year, the Ombudsman regularly submitted proposals to the Pardon Issues Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and participated in the Commission's meetings. Based on the appeals of the Ombudsman, a total of 900 convicts have been pardoned, and in 2025, 21 convicts have been pardoned", - she said.
