Creating and disseminating pornographic and sexually explicit images of individuals through artificial intelligence will be considered a crime.
According to Modern.az, the issue is reflected in the draft law on amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which was discussed at a joint meeting of the Legal Policy and State Building and Human Rights Committees of the Milli Majlis.
Thus, according to the draft, the addition of new articles to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan is proposed. According to these amendments, the preparation and dissemination of photo, video, or audio materials that do not reflect reality, created through artificial intelligence technologies using a person's image or voice without their consent, as well as the preparation and dissemination of pornographic or sexually explicit materials, will entail criminal liability.
Furthermore, the draft also defines a procedural norm related to the implementation of criminal prosecution. According to the amendment, criminal prosecution for these acts will be carried out in the manner prescribed by law, based on the complaint of the aggrieved person.
