The National Assembly heard and adopted the report on the activities of the Cabinet of Ministers in 2025 last week.
During the discussion of the report, it became known that deputies addressed 124 appeals to the Cabinet of Ministers within a year. 51 appeals were fully executed by the relevant government agencies during the year. The other 35 appeals are currently being reviewed.
Eldar Ibrahimov, Chairman of the Disciplinary Commission of the National Assembly, commented on the report on the activities of the Cabinet of Ministers in 2025 in his statement to Modern.az.
“The year 2025, covered by the report, was rich with successful results we achieved in the field of foreign policy, one of the pillars of our republic's development, thanks to the measures implemented by our esteemed President Mr. Ilham Aliyev in accordance with our national interests. Last year, joint declarations signed with the People's Republic of China and the United States of America, leading countries of the world, the election of our republic as a member of many influential international organizations, as well as the work done towards achieving peaceful coexistence and cooperation with Armenia, which had been at war with our country for many years, have raised Azerbaijan's image on a global scale to a higher level,” E. Ibrahimov noted.
According to the deputy, the successes we achieved in the field of foreign policy have also had an impact on our country's socio-economic development:
“The large-scale measures implemented by the government under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, have created favorable conditions for increasing our country's defense capability and improving the social welfare of the population. Regarding this, Prime Minister Ali Asadov also provided detailed information in his speech at the National Assembly.”
As a veteran deputy of the National Assembly, Eldar Ibrahimov also expressed his views on some issues related to agriculture, which forms the basis of food security – one of the most important issues he has been engaged with and that our state faces:
“It is gratifying that our government, as in previous years, also in 2025, continued to pay planting and crop subsidies to agricultural producers. In the reporting year, 14.2 billion manats worth of agricultural products were produced, and the added value created in this sector constituted 5.9 percent of the republic's gross domestic product. From the information presented in the report regarding the cultivated area and production of agricultural crops, it appears that the cultivated areas of many crops, including wheat and barley, which are of significant importance in ensuring food security, have decreased. I believe that this issue should always be under the strict control of the government. Another issue is the absence of cultivated areas for fodder crops in this table. Precisely for this reason, a large discrepancy arises between the report's indicators and statistical indicators. Therefore, it would be good if this is taken into account in subsequent years. Furthermore, the report notes that while 33.5 centners of wheat are harvested from each hectare across the country, 57.6 centners are obtained from food wheat fields. I would like to note that this is a very high achievement, consistent with the results obtained by European countries. Therefore, this experience should be studied and widely applied so that our country's demand for food wheat is primarily met by local production.”
According to the deputy, another important issue is related to the organization of agricultural product processing.
“It is true that recently the government has done a lot of work in this direction, and new processing enterprises have been built and put into operation. Nevertheless, the commencement of operations of new enterprises, their coverage of all crop and livestock products, and their placement in all regions of our country are very important. Because a processing enterprise means new jobs, the improvement of the area where it is located, the production of new products, as well as the efficient use of cultivated lands by stimulating the production of agricultural products, and the resolution of other issues. At the same time, processing enterprises in our country must fully cover the processing of these products into final consumer goods,” E. Ibrahimov said.
As a deputy elected from Nakhchivan, he also emphasized that the attention and care shown by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, regarding the provision of security and tranquility in the region, concerning the events that took place in the Autonomous Republic in recent days, were met with satisfaction by the local population:
“In this regard, on behalf of my constituents, I express my gratitude and thanks to His Excellency, the Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
I positively evaluate the activities of the Cabinet of Ministers in 2025.”
