The State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads has completed 95 % of the construction of the Horadiz–Jabrayil–Zangilan–Aghband highway, which is 123,6 km long.

The road (Zangazur corridor), the foundation of which was laid by the presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkey, is of strategic importance and will make a significant contribution to the establishment of new economic, transport, and communication links in the region. The project is being constructed in accordance with modern standards and high-quality requirements. The total length of the road is 149,9 km, of which 123,6 km is the main road. The technical class of the road is 1B, which allows for high-speed and safe movement.
• Road width: 14–21 meters
• Embankment width: 21,5–29,5 meters
• Number of lanes: 4–6
These indicators create favorable conditions for the comfortable and uninterrupted flow of traffic.
Within the framework of the project, the following important engineering structures are being constructed:
• 260 circular culverts (total length 16 723 m)
• 55 rectangular culverts (3 526 m)
• 55 underpasses (3 781 m)
• 28 bridges (2 090 m)
• 8 road junctions (26 336 m)
• 1 500 meters of retaining walls
• 3 tunnels (total length 12 032 m)
High-quality materials and advanced technologies are used in the construction of the road. Earthworks, layer laying, and pavement works have been largely completed.
• Asphalt works: 950 000 m³
• Total volume of earthworks: 61 386 373 m³
These indicators are among the main factors ensuring the road's durability and longevity.
Works on the tunnels, which constitute an important part of the project, have been largely completed:
• Tunnel T1: Left - 1 004,2 m | Right - 1 030,6 m
• Tunnel T2: Left - 1 809,5 m | Right - 1 838,5 m
• Tunnel T3: Left - 3 178 m | Right - 3 172 m
Excavation and shotcrete works in these tunnels have already been completed.
Regarding bridges, the construction of 22 out of 28 bridges has been completed, and works are ongoing on 6 of them. 16 of the bridges are water culverts, and 12 are road overpasses.
In addition, the construction of 55 underpasses, 258 circular, and 47 rectangular culverts has also been completed.
The Horadiz–Jabrayil–Zangilan–Aghband highway, as part of the Hajigabul–Horadiz–Aghband–Zangazur corridor main road, is of significant importance for connecting other regions of Azerbaijan with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. This project is crucial not only for the development of transport infrastructure but also for accelerating economic integration in the region, forming new trade routes, and strengthening strategic cooperation. The full commissioning of the road will create new economic and geopolitical opportunities for the region in the near future.
