Within the framework of the First State Program on the Great Return, the construction of 7 projects with a total length of 312 km has already been completed. These are the Victory Road, a new alternative automobile road bypassing Lachin city, Tartar-Chayli-Sugovushan-Talish, Talish-Tapgaragoyunlu-Gashalti, Fuzuli-Hadrut, Barda-Aghdam, and Ahmadbayli-Fuzuli-Shusha automobile roads.
In accordance with the Action Plan, the implementation of the remaining 14 projects with a total length of 1885 km is planned to be completed by 2026, depending on the allocated funds.
Information on this matter was provided by the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads (AAYDA) in response to an inquiry from Modern.az.
The Agency stated that these include Aghdam-Fuzuli, Gubadli-Mahmudlu-Yazduzu-Armenian border, Toghana-Kalbajar-Istisu, Horadiz-Jabrayil-Zangilan-Aghband automobile roads, the design and construction of a connecting road with the Islamic Republic of Iran and bridges over the Araz River, drilling-blasting and earthworks related to the construction of an airport in Lachin district, Kalbajar-Lachin, Khudaferin-Gubadli-Lachin, Shukurbayli-Jabrayil-Hadrut automobile roads, the construction of strategically important road infrastructure of various purposes in the territories of Kalbajar, Lachin, and Dashkasan districts, the restoration of internal roads of Aghdam city, Gubadli-Eyvazli, Hadrut-Tugh-Azikh, Aghdam-Hindarkh-Aghjabadi automobile roads.
It was noted that the opening ceremony of a 24.2 km section of the Shukurbayli-Jabrayil-Hadrut automobile road, with a total length of 39.7 km, has been held.
In addition to the First State Program on the Great Return, in 2023, the implementation of 3 more projects was entrusted to the Agency by the Orders of Mr. President. These include the construction of internal roads of Lachin city with a total length of 166.6 km, the construction of a new Gubadli-Lachin automobile road starting from the 33rd km of the Khudaferin-Gubadli-Lachin automobile road, and the major repair of the Horadiz-Zangilan automobile road.
Furthermore, the information reflected that after the successful one-day anti-terror operation carried out by our victorious army in 2023, by the Orders of Mr. President, the Agency commenced the reconstruction and construction of 7 more automobile roads in the completely liberated territories, and these works are currently ongoing. These include Sugovushan-Sarsang reservoir-Gozlukorpu-Kalbajar, Aghdara-Aghdam, Asgaran, Tartar-Aghdara, Khankendi-Shusha-Lachin, and Asgaran-Khojaly-Khankendi automobile roads, with a total length of 501 km, as well as strategically important automobile roads of various purposes in the territories of Zangilan, Gubadli, and Lachin districts.
In accordance with the resettlement schedule, the construction of internal automobile roads in 7 cities, namely Shusha, Gubadli, Zangilan, Kalbajar, Jabrayil, Fuzuli, and Khankendi, as well as automobile roads leading to 24 villages and the road to the Isa Bulagi recreation complex, is also being carried out by the Agency.
“In total, by our Agency, in the liberated territories, in accordance with various programs, the construction of 64 types of automobile roads with a total length of 3720.5 km and 1 airport construction project are being implemented.
In accordance with the mentioned programs and orders, the Agency has so far completed the construction of 17 automobile roads with a total length of 1,338.4 km, and partially completed 1 project.
On the automobile roads, the construction of 47 tunnels with a total length of – 70.9 km, 447 bridges with a total length of - 9,581.6 pm, and 16 viaducts with a total length of 3,871 pm is underway.
Drilling works have been completed in 37 tunnels with a total length of 66.9 km, and 7 tunnels with a length of 13.6 km have been put into operation.
The construction of 392 bridges with a total length of 8,839.1 pm and 9 viaducts with a length of 1,965 pm has been completed,” the information states.
