So far, the bodies of 24 people missing in the Khojaly tragedy have been found

During the Khojaly genocide, 210 individuals were registered as missing persons with the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages, and Missing Persons, of whom 168 are reported to be civilians and 42 members of the city's self-defense unit. Among the civilians, there are 38 children, 23 of whom are boys and 15 are girls. Additionally, among the civilians, there are 57 women and 30 elderly individuals.

Modern.az reports that, in the search, excavation, and exhumation processes carried out since February 2021, presumed remains belonging to 831 missing persons have been discovered and collected. Additionally, 32 mass graves have been discovered in the liberated territories. From the discovered mass graves, presumed remains belonging to 252 individuals have been exhumed.

As a result of the forensic molecular-genetic examination of the discovered human remains, the identities of 220 persons missing from the First Karabakh War have been established and announced to the public, handed over to their families, and buried in accordance with legal requirements and national-religious traditions.

Of the 220 identified individuals, 24 are citizens who went missing during the Khojaly genocide.
