On September 15, events were held in all general education schools of the country to mark the beginning of the new academic year.
Modern.az reports that the events were attended by Deputy Ministers of Science and Education Firudin Qurbanov, Idris Isayev, Hasan Hasanli, and Kenan Kerimzade, Head of the Ministry's Apparatus Metin Kerimli, Deputy Heads of the Apparatus Farzali Gadimov and Elvin Rustamov, Head of the Ministry's Preschool and General Education Department Chapay Mammadov, Head of the Children and Youth Development Department Elnur Aliyev, Chairman of the Education Development Fund Elnur Nasibov, Deputy Head of the Preschool and General Education Department Nariman Gahramanli, as well as heads and representatives of district executive authorities, public representatives, teachers, students, and parents.
At the events, which began with the playing of the National Anthem, the dear memory of our martyrs was honored with a minute of silence.
The speakers spoke about the goals set for the new academic year, the reforms carried out in education, and the measures taken to improve quality. They also called on students to approach knowledge with interest, and teachers to work with responsibility and dedication in shaping future generations.
It should be noted that in the 2025–2026 academic year, 1.6 million students will receive education across the republic.
