The Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026 have been announced. UNEC, entering the THE World University Rankings for the first time this year, has risen to first place in Azerbaijan, first in the South Caucasus, and 801-1000th in the world.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by UNİC's rector, Professor Adalat Muradov.
"In the direction of implementing President Ilham Aliyev's instruction, "Azerbaijan State University of Economics must be a world-class university!", UNEC achieved a new success. UNEC, entering the THE World University Rankings for the first time this year, rose to first place in Azerbaijan, first in the South Caucasus, and 801-1000th in the world. UNEC is the only Azerbaijani university included among the world's top 1000 universities. As for research quality, UNEC is 481st in the world!", the rector said.
A. Muradov congratulated every member of the UNEC family on this achievement and expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed.
"I also congratulate the Azerbaijani universities included in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2026 and wish them success," the rector added.
