In 2026, the number of students receiving training by state order and at state expense is expected to increase by 5210 people to 150102 people, and the number of scholarship recipients is expected to increase by 7520 people to 121280 people.
Modern.az reports that this was noted in the draft budget package of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026.
Taking into account the increases, 616.0 million manats have been projected in the draft state budget for the next year for the financing of higher education by state order and other measures in the field of education, which is 47.8 million manats or 8.4 percent more compared to 2025.
Of this amount, 412.0 million manats will constitute education expenses, 177.0 million manats will constitute scholarship expenses, and 27.0 million manats will constitute expenses for other measures in the field of education.
Compared to the current year, of the increase amount in the next year, 21.1 million manats are related to the increase in the number of students, 6.7 million manats are related to the increase in the number of scholarship recipients, and 20.0 million manats are related to the financing of new targeted state education measures in the field of education.
