Private schools in Azerbaijan's exorbitant prices - LIST

Science and education are the main pillars that shape the future of every society. The development of human thought, the broadening of worldview, and the establishment of a healthy society also begin precisely with quality education. 

In this regard, when parents choose a school for their children, they pay special attention to the level of the curriculum, the professionalism of the teaching staff, the material and technical base, and especially international opportunities. Private schools operating in Baku, in particular, come to the forefront as alternatives that meet these requirements. However, it should be emphasized that these schools differ from each other depending on the educational level and teaching conditions, in addition to the opportunities they offer.

Modern.az has investigated the annual tuition fees of private schools and lyceums operating in Azerbaijan.

The annual tuition fee for grades V-IX at Baku Atatürk Lyceum is 2,500-4,500 manats. At Simurq Lyceum, the fee for grades I-IV is 2,625-5,250 manats, and for grades V-IX, it is 2,890-3,940 manats. At Western School, the annual tuition fee for grades V-IX has been set at 6,000 manats. At Modern Innovations Lyceum, prices for grades I-IV are 6,000-7,000 manats, for grades V-IX 6,500-8,000 manats, and for grades X-XI/XII 7,000-8,500 manats.

At Landau School, the annual fee for primary grades ranges from 6,300-8,700 manats, and for middle grades, it varies between 7,300-13,600 manats. At Erudit Lyceum, the annual tuition fee for grades V-IX is 6,500 manats. At Hədəf Lyceum, the fee for grades I-IV is 6,500-9,000 manats, and for grades V-IX, it is 5,000-9,000 manats. At Yaşam International School, tuition fees are 6,550-7,250 manats for primary grades, 7,250-8,670 manats for middle grades, and 4,800 manats for the full secondary level.

At Baku International Education Complex, the annual fee for grades V-IX is in the range of 8,000-9,000 manats. At Kaspi Lyceum, prices for grades I-IV are 8,350-9,000 manats, for grades V-IX 8,850-9,950 manats, and for grades X-XI/XII 8,950-9,450 manats. At Ada School, the annual tuition fee for primary grades is 15,000 manats, and for the full secondary level, it is 8,400-11,550 manats. At Baku Istanbul Lyceum, the fee for grades V-IX is 9,000-10,000 manats. At Evrika Lyceum, prices for primary grades are 9,000-10,500 manats, and for middle grades, they are 9,500-14,500 manats.

At International Maarif Schools, the annual tuition fee for grades I-IV is set at 9,201-10,862 manats, and for grades V-IX, it is 10,357-12,307 manats. At Idrak Lyceum, the fee for the primary level is 10,000-12,500 manats, and for middle grades, it is 10,500-16,500 manats. At Dünya School, tuition fees for grades I-IV are 11,000-13,500 manats, and for grades V-IX, they are 11,500-17,500 manats. At European Azerbaijan School, the fee for the primary level is 11,250 manats, for middle grades 13,250 manats, and for full secondary education 16,150 manats. At 21st Century International Education and Innovation Center, the annual tuition fee for grades V-IX is 12,000-14,500 manats. At British School, the fee for grades I-IV is 12,000 manats, and for the full secondary level, it is 15,000 manats. At Baku Modern Education Complex, annual tuition fees for grades V-IX range from 12,000-25,000 manats.

At Sabis Sun International School, tuition fees for middle grades are 14,400-15,900 manats. At Sabah School, the annual fee for grades V-IX is 15,000 manats. At Oxbridge Academy Baku, tuition fees for primary grades are 15,640 manats, for middle grades 15,640-18,020 manats, and for the full secondary level 20,740-24,820 manats. At Baku Oxford School, fees for grades I-IV are 17,000-17,500 manats, for grades V-IX 17,500-18,000 manats, and for grades X-XI/XII 18,000-20,500 manats. At Modern Education Complex, the annual tuition fee for primary grades is 18,300 manats, for middle grades 14,800-18,800 manats, and for the full secondary level, it is set at 15,000-19,000 manats. At Azerbaijan British College, the annual tuition fee for primary grades is 20,000 manats, and for middle grades, it is 21,000-22,000 manats, while at Azerbaijan International School, this figure is 54,900 manats.

Research shows that in the new academic year, differences in prices have been recorded in most private schools compared to the 2024/2025 academic year.

At Modern Innovations Lyceum, a price increase has been recorded across all levels. Specifically, the annual fee for primary grades, which was 5,500-6,500 manats in the 2024/2025 academic year, increased to 6,000-7,000 manats in 2025/2026. At the middle level, prices changed from 7,000-7,500 manats to 6,500-8,000 manats, and at the full secondary education level, from 7,000-9,000 manats to 7,000-8,500 manats. Overall, the increase was in the range of 500-1,000 manats.

A similar dynamic is observed at Landau School. The tuition fee for primary grades, which was 6,000-8,300 manats in the previous academic year, increased to 6,300-8,700 manats in the new year, and at the middle level, it rose from 7,000-12,900 manats to 7,300-13,600 manats. The increase averaged 300-700 manats.

The price increase at Dünya School is more noticeable. Specifically, fees for primary grades, which were 10,000-12,500 manats in 2024/2025, were raised to 11,000-13,500 manats in 2025/2026, and at the middle level, they increased from 10,500-16,500 manats to 11,500-17,500 manats. An increase of 1,000 manats was recorded at this school.

At Baku Oxford School, prices have significantly increased, especially for upper grades. Fees, which ranged from 16,500-17,500 manats in 2024/2025, rose to 17,000-18,000 manats in the new academic year, and to 18,000-20,500 manats at the full secondary education level. Here, the increase reached up to 3,000 manats for some levels.

At Ada School, the pricing policy is notable for more structural changes. The annual tuition fee for the full secondary level, which was 8,000 manats in the previous academic year, has been set at 15,000 manats for primary grades and 8,400-11,500 manats for the full secondary level in 2025/2026.

Furthermore, a noticeable increase in prices is also observed at the British School. Specifically, while prices for primary education at the aforementioned school were 8,000-14,000 manats and for middle education 14,000 manats in the 2024/2025 academic year, these figures changed to 12,000 and 15,000 manats, respectively, in the 2025/2026 academic year.

However, in some private schools, tuition fees have remained unchanged. At Western School, the annual fee was 6,000 manats in both academic years. At the European Azerbaijan School, prices have also been maintained as in the previous academic year, ranging from 11,250-16,150 manats across levels. Additionally, tuition fees at SABAH School have remained at the same level as the previous year.

According to the research, the sharpest price increase was observed at the Azerbaijan International School. Specifically, the annual tuition fee, which was 43,673 manats in the 2024/2025 academic year, increased to 54,900 manats in 2025/2026. The increase averaged 11,227 manats.

Overall, in the 2025/2026 academic year, tuition fees in private schools primarily increased by 500-2,000 manats. A faster rise in prices is particularly observed for international programs and full secondary education levels. (Source: Banco.az)
