The results of the first attempt of the master's entrance exams' test tasks have already been announced. This has naturally led to widespread discussions among bachelor's degree students this year. As every year, this year's results are of interest both in terms of the overall picture and the passing scores that will be formed for each specialization. Furthermore, considering the scores obtained by participants, the difficulty level of the exam, and the competitive environment, how the current situation is evaluated is also a particular focus of attention.
In a statement to Modern.az, education expert Elchin Afandi commented on the overall picture of this year's exams compared to last year as follows:
“This year, the increased emphasis on mathematical-logic questions in the logic section of the exam has somewhat affected the results of bachelor's students studying in humanities-oriented specializations. Conversely, graduates of technical and economic specializations, who possess stronger mathematical thinking, achieved relatively higher overall results.”
According to the expert, compared to last year, this year has seen an increase not only in the number of participants but also in the number of those who achieved successful results:
“Observations suggest that the majority of those who achieved high results overall are bachelor's students studying in economics and technical specializations. This year, a certain increase in passing scores is expected. Specifically, an increase of one or two points is anticipated in MBA programs. In humanities-oriented specializations, a difference of one or two points may arise depending on the final results.”
E. Afandi also added that currently, the main focus is on the second attempt of the exam:
“It is probable that the results in the second stage may further improve. We hope that when preparing mathematical-logic questions for the next exam, the preparation level of graduates across all specializations will be taken into account, and the questions will be formulated in a balanced manner. Because the mathematical-logic section poses more difficulty for those in humanities-oriented specializations,” the expert stated.
