On March 3, a meeting was held with the heads of higher education institutions at Baku Higher Oil School.
Modern.az was informed about this by the Ministry of Science and Education.
It was stated that the meeting, dedicated to the admission process to higher education institutions, was attended by Farah Aliyeva, Head of the Department of Humanitarian Policy, Diaspora, Multiculturalism and Religious Affairs of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Emin Amrullayev, Minister of Science and Education; Maleyka Abbaszade, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the State Examination Center; deputy ministers of science and education; heads of relevant structural units of the ministry; and rectors of higher education institutions.
Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev, delivering an opening speech, noted the issues on the agenda and emphasized the importance of their discussion.
Subsequently, Maleyka Abbaszade, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the State Examination Center, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the topic “Knowledge Assessment and Student Admission to Higher Education Institutions.” The Chairwoman discussed the knowledge and skills that are important to measure in the modern era, particularly highlighting key aspects in the assessment of digital literacy. It was noted that the admission process should be shaped as the beginning of a purposeful and responsible educational trajectory.
In his speech, Emin Amrullayev addressed existing problems and solutions related to higher education institutions, also providing detailed information on future directions of activity in this field. The Minister specifically emphasized the importance of strengthening the competitive environment among higher education institutions, noting that this holds significant importance for improving the quality of education and strengthening positions in international rankings.
Following the speeches, the meeting continued in a format of mutual discussion, where ideas were exchanged and proposals were put forward regarding existing issues.
