The share of women in education and healthcare sectors in Azerbaijan remains high.
Modern.az reports that this is reflected in the statistical indicators released by the State Statistical Committee on the occasion of March 8.
Women constitute more than 80 percent of teachers in general education institutions. More than 60 percent of teachers in higher education institutions and approximately 80 percent in vocational secondary education institutions are women.
A similar situation is observed in the healthcare sector. Specifically, two-thirds of the doctors working in the country are women.
The share of girls among students is also high. Girls constitute more than 45 percent of pupils in general education institutions, more than 60 percent of students in vocational secondary education institutions, and more than half of students in higher education institutions.
