“The issue of education is not just the work of one field; it is a national issue.”
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Malahat Ibrahimqizi, a Member of Parliament, at an event titled “Public Discussion: School Diary,” which is part of the project “School in Public Discussion,” implemented with the support of the Baku City Education Department (BŞTİ) and the Azerbaijan Press Council.
The MP reminded that in many developed countries of the world, including fraternal Turkey, there are two main institutions: the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of National Defense. In her opinion, this indicates that education is an issue directly related to the future of the people, society, and the state.
“Therefore, both successes and shortcomings in education are the responsibility not only of the school but of society as a whole. During the Soviet era, there was often an approach where all responsibility for a child was placed solely on the school. This was not the correct approach, because both the school and the parents have a responsibility in a child's upbringing.”
M. Ibrahimqizi also emphasized that if we want to raise patriotic, dignified, and socially beneficial young people, the role of the family here is also very significant:
“A strong family, proper upbringing, and quality education yield results together,” she noted.
