A precautionary recall decision has been made by “Nestle” regarding some food products intended for infants and young children.

Information on this matter was provided to Modern.az by the Azerbaijan Food Safety Agency (AFSA).

It was noted that certain batches of products manufactured under the “SMA”, “BEBA”, “ALFAMINO”, “Pre NAN” and several other trademarks have been recalled from circulation in Austria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. The reason for this is the potential contamination of the products with “Cereulide” toxin, originating from “Bacillus cereus” bacteria, during the production process.

It was stated that, according to current information from countries worldwide, a total of 123 recalled product batches have not been imported into the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

"As a precautionary measure, samples have been taken from other product batches manufactured by “Nestle” and currently on sale in the country, and subjected to examinations for the specified indicator. The public will be informed about the results," the AFSA statement said.
