Saudi Arabian authorities have started issuing passports to camels belonging to local residents.
Modern.az reports that the Kingdom's Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has disseminated information on social media regarding this.
“His Excellency the Deputy Minister has introduced the camel passport with the aim of increasing the efficiency of the livestock industry and creating a database for camels”, - the ministry's statement said.
The camel passport will become an official document containing detailed information about the animal, including its gender and owner's details. The main feature will be detailed vaccination information, allowing for the creation of an accurate health history for each camel and facilitating the monitoring of the spread of infectious diseases among the herd.
The ministry emphasizes that such documentation of camels will facilitate the confirmation of ownership rights and make the selection process more efficient for farmers.
