Ensuring reliable protection of the state border and measures to combat the illegal circulation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their precursors are successfully continued.

It was reported that 9 kilograms 860 grams of the narcotic substance marijuana was prevented from being smuggled from the Islamic Republic of Iran into the Republic of Azerbaijan in the service area of the “Lankaran” border detachment of the Border Troops Command of the State Border Service.
As a result of the conducted border search and operational-military measures, residents of Baku city who arrived in the area to retrieve the narcotic substance – Huseynov Shahriyar Salim oglu, born in 1991, and Aliyev Sattar Niyazi oglu, born in 2001, were brought to criminal responsibility.
Operational-investigative measures on the case are ongoing.
