Azerbaijan's defense industry companies have presented their products consisting of strike and special-purpose unmanned aerial vehicles.
Modern.az reports that the presentation took place at the World Defense Show exhibition held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
The drones presented were as follows:
One of RD Smart company's most important products, the "QARTAL" strike drone and its reconnaissance version, the "QARTAL-M", were presented.
In its strike configuration, the "QARTAL" can carry two munitions with a total weight of up to 3 kilograms. The drone's combat radius is up to 15 kilometers. Its maximum flight speed is 70 km/h, and its operational altitude is 800 meters. The QARTAL's takeoff weight is 13 kg, and its maximum payload capacity is 8 kg. Flight duration is 30-40 minutes, depending on the application mode.

The drone can operate in a wide temperature range from -40 to +60 degrees Celsius. Its optoelectronic station has day and thermal imaging channels and provides 10x magnification capability.
The reconnaissance version, "QARTAL-M", has wider capabilities. This model's flight range has been increased to 30 kilometers, and its endurance reaches 80 minutes. The drone weighs 12 kg. The improved camera provides 40x magnification, the maximum speed has increased to 100 km/h, and the operational altitude has risen to 2 kilometers.
In addition, RD Smart also presented the "QUZĞUN" model among its light strike UAVs. This drone is equipped with a warhead based on a 1 kg C4 explosive and is primarily designed for destroying area targets. The warhead is located in the lower part of the fuselage.
The flight range of the "QUZĞUN" drone is up to 15 km, and its autonomous flight duration is 34 minutes. The maximum speed is 90 km/h. The drone is equipped with a camera that has day and thermal modes.
Also, the "QUZĞUN-Z" version, designed for direct strikes, was demonstrated. This model can be equipped with various types of warheads.
RD Smart also presented the "QIRGHI-S" model. This drone has a flight range of up to 10 km, a warhead equipped with a C4 explosive weighing over 1.4 kg, and a maximum speed reaching 90 km/h.
"Azshield Defence" drones presented by the company
The company demonstrated its "Batur" drones, built on 7, 10, and 15-inch frames.
Unmanned aerial vehicles can be operated via both radio channels and optical fiber (fiber-optic) communication systems. The weight of the warheads varies from 1.3 kilograms to 5 kilograms. The operational range is between 10–15 kilometers.

In addition, a series of high-speed, high-altitude interceptor drones named "BARS", built on 5 and 7-inch frames, was also presented. These drones can operate at an altitude of 2-3 kilometers and carry a warhead weighing between 300-400 grams. The maximum speed of such drones is approximately 300 kilometers per hour.
It should be noted that Azerbaijani servicemen began testing various types of unmanned aerial vehicles as early as 2024.
