A 59-year-old Rasim Hasanov, accused of abusing the trust of citizens and causing them significant financial damage in Mingachevir, has been sentenced.
Modern.az reports that the trial of the person who committed fraud crimes while working as a physical education teacher at Mingachevir City Full Secondary School No. 11 has concluded.
The Shaki Court for Grave Crimes found him guilty under Article 178.3.2 of the Criminal Code (Fraud causing significant damage) and sentenced him to 6 years and 6 months in prison.
It was revealed that the secondary school teacher, by making promises such as selling land plots to 5 people, formalizing non-residential properties in their names, and illegal privatization, seized 214,000 manats from them. Through measures taken by the police, R. Hasanov was detained and a criminal case was opened against him.
The court also satisfied the civil claims filed against R. Hasanov. It was decided that 60,300, 10,120, 37,702, and 41,715 manats, respectively, should be seized from him and paid to the victims.
