On March 2, 2026, a telephone conversation was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Hakan Fidan.
According to the information provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Modern.az, during the telephone conversation, an exchange of views took place regarding the current military-political situation in the region, the escalating tensions, and security risks in the Middle East.
The parties emphasized the unacceptability of the regional escalation spreading to a wider geography and noted the importance of resolving issues through diplomatic means, based on the norms and principles of international law.
The ministers stressed the importance of maintaining stability and security in the region, stating that ensuring the safety of the civilian population and objects is a priority issue.
It was noted that the strategic alliance relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey gain even greater importance against the backdrop of existing challenges, and it was emphasized that the two brotherly countries will continue their close coordination.
During the telephone conversation, an exchange of views also took place on other issues of mutual interest.
