Over the last six months, more than 2,000 internet resources spreading malicious content have been identified and restricted by the Electronic Security Service, 184 web DDoS attacks have been promptly neutralized, and more than 1.5 million data leakage incidents have been detected, with appropriate measures taken.
Modern.az reports that these remarks were made by Samir Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, at a forum on the topic “Consumers in the Modern Digital World: E-commerce, Digital Services, and Security Issues” on the occasion of March 15 - World Consumer Rights Day.
According to the Deputy Minister, one of the important components of this system is also the increase in citizens' digital literacy.
“No matter how strong cyber defense mechanisms are, adhering to security rules in the digital environment and properly handling personal data is of great importance for the protection of consumer rights.
In Azerbaijan, digital development policy and the protection of consumer rights are closely linked. Transparent services, reliable identification systems, citizen control over data, and active cyber defense mechanisms serve both to form a strong consumer environment and to build a more reliable digital state”.
S. Mammadov added that the IT mechanism of the “myGov” platform provides citizens with a single secure access to public and private services:
“More than 4 million citizens already use the SIMA biometric digital identification service, which is an integral part of this system. According to him, reliable digital identification and data protection mechanisms play a crucial role in the secure and effective provision of digital services”, - noted the Deputy Minister.
