The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Thursday that its embassy in Tehran has been relocated to Azerbaijan, to Baku.
Modern.az reports that the Ministry's spokesperson, Liana Zotu, stated that this step is related to the deteriorating security conditions that do not allow for the safe operation of the diplomatic mission in the Iranian capital.
According to reports, due to the very small number of Greek citizens residing in Iran, and their being mainly related to the family members and staff of the diplomatic mission, there are no requests for the repatriation of Greek citizens from Iran.
The details of the relocation are not disclosed due to security reasons, and the process is ongoing.
