Information broadcast by Public Television yesterday caused a serious resonance in society. According to the information, a person engaged in blackmail activities has been exposed. Investigations revealed that the campaign against Alena Aliyeva was entirely false and deliberately orchestrated.
As a result of operational measures carried out by the State Security Service (SSS), it is reported that one person has already been detained in connection with the incident. The detained person gave a statement to the investigation, confessing important details. According to him, the video material was provided to him by individuals close to those living abroad and consistently displaying a hostile stance against Azerbaijan. This material was handed over to him by Mammadzaqi Salimov and Elman Aliyev, who are close to Qabil Mammadov and Mehman Huseynov. Representatives of the public have also expressed their views on the matter.
Anar, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, stated that such actions are absolutely unacceptable. In fact, this is a provocation against the entire population of the country: “Those who take this step are not friends of the state; they are committing hostile acts. Insulting people is unacceptable, and those who take this step must be held accountable. No one should be insulted. Those who insult must bear responsibility and receive their punishment. Especially those who take steps against the President, who is a symbol of the state, and his family, should not go unpunished.”
Eldar Guliyev, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Council of Elders and Member of Parliament, strongly condemned the events. He emphasized that such incidents are unacceptable, stating that such actions pose a serious threat to society. According to him, individuals who commit despicable acts such as blackmail and slander must definitely answer before the law.
Eldar Guliyev noted that such steps are completely contrary to our national customs and traditions and the values inherent to our people. He called on all citizens to demonstrate an uncompromising stance against such incidents. The chairman also stressed that no Azerbaijani with sound morals and thoughts can engage in such vile acts.
Eldar Guliyev particularly sharply criticized the conduct of such campaigns against women. He stated that every woman is someone's child, sister, mother, or wife. In this regard, a more sensitive and responsible approach should be demonstrated in such matters. In his opinion, it is important for society to wage both a legal and moral struggle against such incidents.
Eldar Ibrahimov, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Elders and Member of Parliament, also commented on the issue. He noted that individuals who commit such acts should be brought to criminal responsibility under the most severe articles. Eldar Ibrahimov strongly condemned the actions of these people, stating that they are dangerous for society. According to him, such individuals lack national identity and are a disgrace to the Azerbaijani people. He added that the dissemination of blackmailing materials against a woman on internet resources is both disgusting and vile.
Experts believe that such incidents once again bring information security issues to the forefront. Fake information spread through social networks and various platforms causes serious harm to society. In this regard, the operational activities of law enforcement agencies are of particular importance. At the same time, it is important for citizens to be informed and vigilant. As a society, a joint fight against disinformation must be waged. To prevent such incidents, both legal mechanisms should be strengthened and educational work expanded.
The incident once again shows that those who try to damage someone's reputation through blackmail and slander are sooner or later exposed. Everyone is equal before the law, and no one can escape responsibility. Society, in turn, must demonstrate a firm and principled stance against such incidents.
