The Ministry of Emergency Situations has appealed to the public regarding irregular parking, which complicates rescue operations.
Modern.az, referring to the MES, reports that the appeal states:
"Due to the Ramadan and Novruz holidays, during several consecutive non-working days, citizens park their vehicles mainly in the courtyards or around buildings.
Based on observations, as well as a general analysis of fire and rescue operations carried out, it must be regretfully noted that in a number of cases, irregularly parked cars, scattered at building entrances and courtyards, on the moving part of roadways, or in the immediate vicinity of fire water supply systems, during an emergency, hinder the operational movement and rapid deployment of firefighting, rescue, and other large-sized special-purpose vehicles, as well as making it difficult, and in some cases impossible, to draw water from reservoirs and hydrants during fire extinguishing.
In connection with the above, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, taking into account the potential dangers that may arise from the mass parking of private cars during holiday periods, appeals to citizens and states that for the unhindered approach of firefighting and rescue vehicles, other large-sized special-purpose equipment to buildings, their rapid deployment, and the effective conduct of operations during fires and other emergencies, as well as for convenient use of water reservoirs and hydrants, cars must be parked only in designated areas, maintaining a distance from each other, and ensuring free passage for other vehicles".
