In connection with the criminal case in which Tale Heydarov, the son of Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov, was the victim, another prominent businessman has been brought to criminal responsibility.

Modern.az reports that a preventive measure of arrest in absentia has been chosen regarding Abid Mamedov, who was the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of “Azfinance Investment Company” CJSC.

A. Mamedov is accused of large-scale fraud together with Intigam Safaraliyev, the director of “Azfinance Investment Company”, who is currently under arrest. However, since Mamedov is not in the country, his apprehension has not been possible.

Regarding the accusation, there were purchase and sale relations between Intigam Safaraliyev, Abid Mamedov, and Tale Heydarov. They sold a factory worth millions of manats to Heydarov. However, the latter subsequently refused the contract, stating that he had been deceived, and filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office. Tale Heydarov stated during the investigation that he suffered damages amounting to 11 million 903 thousand manats. Ultimately, the amount of damage incurred was determined to be of this magnitude.

Currently, the preliminary investigation into Intigam Safaraliyev's case has been completed, while Abid Mamedov's case has been separated into a distinct proceeding, and he has been put on a wanted list.

The accused persons, however, categorically deny the charges. The defense side believes that there is no crime involved. According to their claim, there was an official purchase and sale between Tale Heydarov, Intigam Safaraliyev, and Abid Mamedov, and the parties jointly earned income. However, a dispute arose later because Heydarov wanted to terminate the contract, and he demanded back the funds he paid for the factory, in addition to the income he earned.

The true details of the case will emerge during the court investigation. The parties will present their evidence and proofs.

It should be noted that Abid Mamedov was previously the director of “Azfinance Investment Company” CJSC. Subsequently, Intigam Safaraliyev was appointed to that position. A. Mamedov studied at the University of Bristol in Great Britain. He previously worked as an advisor to the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of “AFB Bank” OJSC and was a member of the Board of Directors of “Azsığorta” OJSC. At the same time, he holds an 85 percent stake in the authorized capital of “Azfinance Investment Company” CJSC. (Qafqazinfo)
