On April 2, within the framework of the general grant competition announced by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan for non-governmental organizations, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, organized by the “Zafar” Public Union for Support to Families of Martyrs, sponsored by “Veysəloğlu” Group of Companies and with media partnership from Culture TV, the presentation of the “Path to Victory” project, dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the April Battles, was held.
Modern.az reports that state and government officials, members of the National Assembly, families of martyrs and veterans, intellectuals, representatives of youth organizations, volunteer youth, public and media representatives participated in the event held at the Academic National Drama Theatre.
Speaking at the event, Sevinc Orucova, wife of April Battles martyr, Lieutenant Colonel Raguf Orujov, nicknamed "Murov Eagle", and chairwoman of the "Zafar" Public Union for Support to Families of Martyrs, noted that the glorious path started by the Azerbaijani Army in the April Battles later resulted in a great Victory in the 44-day Patriotic War, and the Azerbaijani soldier, advancing along the path opened by the heroes in the April Battles, worthily continued their mission, ensured the liberation of our lands, and avenged the martyrs. From this perspective, the April Battles hold special significance in our modern history as the beginning of the path leading to Victory.
At the literary and artistic evening, Farid Jafarov, Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilgar Nuri, Deputy CEO of “Veysəloğlu” Group of Companies, Ziba Asgarova, mother of April Battles martyr Nurlan Asgarov and Patriotic War martyr Intigam Asgarov, and Zeynab Bayramova, mother of First Karabakh War martyr Mehman Bayramov and April Battles martyr Captain Vagif Bayramov, delivered speeches.
The speakers emphasized that the April Battles were the beginning of the great Victory achieved by the Azerbaijani Army under the leadership of Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, and commemorated the dear memory of our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland with deep respect.
At the end of the event, with the participation of renowned art figures, a literary and artistic composition titled “Museum of Memories”, dedicated to the dear and unforgettable memory of the martyrs, was presented. The composition was prepared based on the real-life stories of heroes who ascended to the peak of martyrdom in the April Battles. The author of the idea for the composition is Sevinc Orucova, the scriptwriter is Ilgar Fahmi, secretary for creative affairs of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, poet-writer, and the stage director is Honored Artist Nijat Kazimov.
