The criminal activities of a group of individuals who brought narcotic substances into the country through smuggling have been exposed by employees of the Main Department for Combating Narcotics.
According to information provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to Modern.az, during measures carried out in Astara and Garadagh districts, Ali Mammadov, Ravan Huseynov, and Ilkin Ahmadov, who were previously convicted of intentional homicide and theft crimes, were detained.
From them, 43 kg 300 grams of marijuana with harmful substances added to its composition were discovered.
All three individuals stated that they entered into criminal contact with Iranian citizens whose identities are being investigated by the inquiry and acquired the narcotics with the aim of obtaining them from border regions and distributing them to various addresses.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the fact, and a pre-trial detention measure has been chosen against the detained individuals by court order.
