Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov received the delegation led by Sibi George, Secretary (West) of the Ministry of External Affairs of the Republic of India.

This was reported to Modern.az by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the meeting, the current state and prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and India were discussed, and issues of cooperation in the fields of economic-trade relations, energy, tourism, and education were reviewed. In addition, positions on issues of disagreement between the two countries were brought to attention, and the importance of dialogue in this direction was emphasized.

The parties exchanged views on regional and international security issues, including the current tensions in the Middle East. The importance of ensuring stability and security in the region was noted. Furthermore, gratitude was expressed to the Azerbaijani side for the support provided in the evacuation of Indian citizens from Iran.

During the meeting, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.

On the same day, political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and India. The political consultations were led by Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov from the Azerbaijani side, and by Sibi George, Secretary (West) of the Ministry of External Affairs, from the Indian side.
