Azerbaijan reaffirms its commitment to eliminating the severe humanitarian consequences of mines.
Modern.az reports that this was stated in a post made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan (MFA) on its "X" social media account regarding the International Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action Day.
"In Azerbaijan, mines and unexploded ordnance continue to pose a serious threat to human life, hinder reconstruction efforts, and impede the safe return of displaced persons," the post noted.
It was emphasized that Azerbaijan remains among the countries most affected by mine contamination.
"We call on the international community to strengthen support for humanitarian mine clearance efforts and assistance to mine victims. A future free of mines is essential for lasting peace, development, and human security," the MFA stated.
