Rainy weather conditions create an unfavorable environment for road users, significantly increasing the risk of accidents on roads. Slippery road surfaces and reduced visibility require greater attention and responsibility from drivers.
Modern.az reports that this was stated in an appeal to drivers by the Baku City State Traffic Police (DYP) Department regarding the current weather conditions.
“In such weather conditions, it is important to be especially careful when driving, reduce speed limits to a minimum, maintain a greater distance than usual, and ensure that the vehicle's wipers and lighting devices are in good working order.
At the same time, unfavorable weather conditions create additional difficulties for pedestrians.
Due to slippery road surfaces and reduced visibility for drivers in rainy weather, pedestrians should be more careful when moving, walk on sidewalks, cross the road only at pedestrian crossings, and prefer light-colored, easily visible clothing. When crossing the road, they should be careful and cross only after ensuring that there are no vehicles or that vehicles have completely stopped across all lanes”, the appeal states.
