On April 3, the Tovuz District Police Department received information about the forced abduction of a 19-year-old female resident of the district for the purpose of marriage.
According to information provided to Modern.az by the regional group of the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the woman's location was determined through measures taken by police officers, and she was handed over to her family.
District residents suspected of committing the crime — 32-year-old Nemat Mammadov, his brother 34-year-old Ismat Mammadov, their fellow villagers 38-year-old Elmar Abdiyev, and 42-year-old V. Taghiyeva — were detained and handed over to the investigation.
A criminal case was initiated regarding the incident under the article on kidnapping of the Criminal Code, and they were brought to criminal responsibility. Investigative inquiries are ongoing.
