The Armenian Ministry of Defense accused pro-government MP Hayk Sargsyan of disseminating military secrets and spreading disinformation.
Modern.az reports that the ministry's statement indicates that the MP's statements regarding the army do not reflect reality.
It was noted that information related to conscription and mobilization is confidential and its disclosure is unacceptable.
The Ministry also denied the MP's claim that the number of fixed-term military personnel in the army decreased from 44,000 to 14,000 in the last 10 years. It was stated that the number of conscripts in 2025 increased by 25.3 percent compared to 2022.
Furthermore, the Armenian Ministry of Defense emphasized that the MP's claim regarding a soldier's death from pneumonia in 2024 is also untrue.
The statement noted that the issue of ensuring the hygiene of military personnel is constantly at the center of attention of the relevant authorities.
