According to information received by the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations from the Republican Seismological Survey Center under the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, today at 13:05 local time, a 5.3 magnitude earthquake was recorded 50 km east of Lankaran city, in the Caspian Sea area at a depth of 70 km.
Modern.az reports that the Press Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) disseminated information about this.
It was noted that the earthquake was felt with an intensity of 4-3 in the southern regions of the country.
"No information regarding any destruction or human casualties as a result of the earthquake has been received by the Ministry of Emergency Situations to date", - it was emphasized in the information.
