Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginiene is on an official visit to Azerbaijan.
The Prime Minister visited the Alley of Martyrs on April 9.
Modern.az reports that during the visit to the Alley of Martyrs, the Lithuanian Prime Minister was also accompanied by Azerbaijan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Lithuania, Tamerlan Garayev.
Tamerlan Garayev was a member of the Azerbaijan Popular Front from 1988-1992, and Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Azerbaijan Popular Front from 1990-1992.
Tamerlan Garayev served as Deputy Chairman, and later First Deputy Chairman, of the Milli Majlis from 1991-1993.
He has been in diplomatic service since 1993.
Having received the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in 1993, T. Garayev was sent to China for diplomatic work that same year. He served as Azerbaijan's Ambassador to China from 1993-2001.
From 2004-2011, he served as Ambassador to India (concurrently, from 2006-2011, as Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Nepal¸ Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and the Republic of Maldives).
From 2011-2018, he headed the diplomatic corps of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Indonesia. From 2012-2018, he served as Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Singapore, the Philippines, and the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste.
On December 13, 2018, he was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Lithuania.
