Last year, 7 people aged between 18-29 entered into marriage with individuals aged 60 and above.
This was stated by the Ministry of Justice in response to an inquiry from Modern.az.
It was noted that, during the years 2020-2025, a total of 18 marriages were registered between individuals aged 18-29 and those aged 60 and above.
It should be recalled that, according to data from the State Statistical Committee, in 2024, 840 men over the age of 60 entered into official marriage. Thus, in 2024, 358 women in Azerbaijan entered into official marriage after the age of 60. Of these, 307 married their peers.
However, some women over the age of 60 marrying significantly younger men can be considered a truly unusual occurrence.
Thus, in 2024, 7 women over the age of 60 married men aged 45-49.
