Modern.az reports that Ziya Öztürk, Speaker of the Assembly of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, stated this at the Milli Majlis during the 13th meeting of the Working Group on Inter-Parliamentary Relations between Azerbaijan, Turkey, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
In his speech, Öztürk drew special attention to Azerbaijan's position. According to him, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has repeatedly declared his support for the Turkish Cypriots in the process of recognizing the TRNC as an independent state and supported the idea of the entity becoming a full member of the Organization of Turkic States.
“I once again respectfully salute these two strong leaders for standing by the Turkish Cypriots and express my gratitude. This support gives us strength and further reinforces our determination to fight,” he noted.
