Driving licenses will be mutually recognized between Azerbaijan and Belarus.
Modern.az reports that the issue is reflected in the draft law on the approval of the "Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Belarus on the Mutual Recognition and Exchange of Driving Licenses," which was discussed at today's meeting of the Milli Majlis.
After the agreement is approved, the mutual recognition and exchange of driving licenses between the two countries will be possible.
It is noted that the main purpose of signing the agreement is to increase the safety of road transport, improve road traffic, and ensure the mutual recognition and exchange of driving licenses between both states.
According to the agreement, the parties mutually recognize permanent and valid driving licenses issued by their competent authorities in accordance with the national legislation of their states. The provisions of the agreement regulate issues such as the exercise of the right to exchange driving licenses without passing a qualification exam, application procedures, payment of established domestic fees, equivalence of driving licenses, exchange of samples, identification of competent authorities for this purpose, transmission of necessary information, resolution of disagreements, and other matters.
