A meeting was held with Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev within the framework of the bilateral round table held with the participation of representatives of Azerbaijani and Armenian civil societies within the framework of the "Bridge of Peace" initiative in Gabala.
Modern.az reports that during the meeting, Hikmet Hajiyev exchanged views with the participants and also answered the questions of the Armenian delegation.
At the meeting, the commitment of the Azerbaijani government to the peace agenda was emphasized.
At the meeting, our country's commitment to the agreed peace agenda between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington and the spirit of the Washington Summit was once again brought to attention.
It was also noted that trade relations have been established between the two countries and the transit of products from Azerbaijan to Armenia has been ensured, and it was stated that the TRIPP project will be implemented and this will serve to change the atmosphere in the region and the transport landscape of an entire region.
H. Hajiyev noted that just as the negotiations on the peace agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia are bilateral, it is important that these exchanges and confidence-building measures between civil societies are also bilateral.
The Assistant to the President emphasized that in the context of new turmoil and wars in the world, ensuring peace and security in the South Caucasus is extremely important.
