The 12th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States held in Gabala is considered a historical event that determines the political, economic, and cultural future of the Turkic world.
Azerbaijan was prominent this time, both as the host and as the ideological center of Turkic unity. The Turkic states gathered in Gabala and delivered a unified message. The main essence of the message was that the Turkic world is now a real center of power.
Naturally, this reality does not please everyone. For example, various media outlets within Russia and Iran have prepared fake news about the summit. The reason for their concerns is known to everyone; it is an undeniable fact that historically both countries have been against Turkic unity. However, this time, those who frowned upon Turkic unity were not limited to these two countries.
Some media outlets in Northern Cyprus, which are opposed to Turkey and Turkic unity, are systematically attempting to cast a shadow over the Gabala meeting. These attempts are carried out through several newspapers and their affiliated media structures. One of them is the publication called “Yeni Düzen”.
“Yeni Düzen” is a media entity that has been operating in Northern Cyprus for many years, known for its rhetoric against Turkey's policies. The writing style and ideological line of this newspaper openly originate from circles close to the Republican Turkish Party. The publication regularly refers to Turkey's presence in Cyprus as “occupation,” attempts to portray the Organization of Turkic States as an ineffective format, and distorts every success of Azerbaijan.
The newspaper's editorial line has for years carried the influence of Greek lobbies, promoting their “two-community Cyprus” model and serving to undermine Northern Cyprus's independence.
Recently, Iran-oriented views have also increased in this newspaper. In its articles, Turkic unity is presented as an “imperialist project,” and Iran's desired sphere of influence, created under the name of “Islamic solidarity,” is justified.
In a recent article published by an author named Serhat İncirli, another attempt was made to cast a shadow over Turkic unity. In reality, these claims are an information war waged against the new reality formed in Gabala, against the Turkic world's transformation into an independent center in the fields of energy, transport, and security. Because the Gabala Summit showed that the Turkic states are now the center that determines the rules of the region.
“Yeni Düzen”'s provocative article against the Gabala Summit is precisely the result of this fear. The joint leadership of Azerbaijan and Turkey, the Turkic unity gaining political weight, and the creation of a new order in energy routes have caused serious concern in Greece, Iran, and their affiliated media. These publications have now lost their independence and have become information tools fulfilling the orders of foreign circles.
The Turkic world has now grown close enough not to be divided. No lobby, no provocative media will be able to stop this process. The Gabala meeting once again proved that Turkic unity is not an emotional idea, but a reality. In the face of this reality, the false and hateful writings of newspapers like “Yeni Düzen” will simply remain in history as the voice of the weak.
Many fear Turkic unity. But the path that began in Gabala is now irreversible!
