President Ilham Aliyev will depart for Kazakhstan today. The head of state will meet with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on October 21.
It should be noted that this visit takes place at the invitation of the President of Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, bilateral economic, political, and humanitarian relations will be discussed.
In a statement to Modern.az, Aydın Huseynov, a member of the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan inter-parliamentary working group of the Milli Majlis, stated that President Ilham Aliyev's visit to Kazakhstan is not only a continuation of diplomatic relations between two friendly and fraternal countries but is also regarded as a transition to a new stage of strategic cooperation within the family of Turkic-speaking states:
"Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have consistently strengthened their ties in political, economic, and humanitarian spheres in recent years. Both countries play a significant role in ensuring regional stability, economic integration, and energy security. From this perspective, the main objective of the visit is to further deepen relations and agree on new cooperation mechanisms.
The foundation of relations between the two countries rests on common historical roots, cultural proximity, and mutual trust. Today, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan demonstrate a unified stance not only on a bilateral level but also within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, the UN, and other international organizations. Ilham Aliyev's visit is regarded as a step that will further strengthen the political unity of the Turkic world in regional processes. Concrete agreements are expected to be reached in the fields of energy, transport-logistics, and agriculture during the meetings with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev".
The MP emphasized that inter-parliamentary relations are also an important component of this cooperation:
"Friendship groups between the parliaments of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have been actively operating for many years, facilitating the exchange of experience at the legislative level. Both countries continue to provide mutual support in areas such as legislative reforms, the expansion of parliamentary diplomacy, and cooperation among young deputies. These relations strengthen not only official ties but also rapprochement between the peoples.
Expectations are that as a result of this visit, Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan relations will acquire new political content, and economic and cultural cooperation will further expand. Both countries intend to lead the integration process among Turkic-speaking states and ensure sustainable development in the region. This visit will be remembered as an important step that strengthens the unity of the Turkic world from both a historical and strategic perspective".
