On the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the glorious Victory achieved in the Patriotic War, the parade held in Baku's Azadliq Square was remembered for several key moments.
The highest-level representation of Turkey and Pakistan at the Victory Parade, and the participation of a high-ranking guest from the United Arab Emirates demonstrated that Azerbaijan has strong allies ready to stand by it.
This parade also practically confirmed Azerbaijan's status as the dominant country in the South Caucasus. Turkish leader Erdoğan's description of the liberation of Karabakh as “a source of pride for the entire Turkic world” once again showed the world and neighboring states the strategic and moral significance of this victory.
Undoubtedly, the Victory Parade in Azadliq Square was also watched in Yerevan. It is likely that the Armenian government and opposition did not fail to take their share of the messages conveyed by the parade
Military expert Adalat Verdiyev, in his statement to Modern.az, spoke about the messages the Victory Parade sent to Armenia.
He stated that the military parade in Baku once again demonstrated that the Azerbaijani Army is one of the strongest armies in the world:
"Despite the end of the war, Azerbaijan consistently keeps security and defense issues as a priority on its agenda. New weapon systems are incorporated into our army's provisions and equipment year by year. It is precisely thanks to these provisions and equipment that Azerbaijan now possesses the potential to protect its lands from any threats at the highest level and to neutralize the enemy. By demonstrating its combat potential to the entire world, Azerbaijan, together with its allies, sent a message to the world that no one should attempt to threaten us or resort to military intervention!".
The expert emphasized that the support for our state's position by a country with one of the world's strongest defense potentials, such as Turkey, and the official declaration of this by the President of the fraternal country at the parade, sent quite serious messages to countries acting against Azerbaijan:
"This showed that Azerbaijan is a strong state, and speaking to it in a language of threats is very dangerous, and with our victory, we have created a new configuration in our region, while also liberating Armenia from the separatist yoke. The parade once again demonstrated the great Victory we achieved in the Patriotic War, and that our Armed Forces, which achieved it, are ready for any threat to the security of our lands. One can be friends with Azerbaijan. One cannot speak to Azerbaijan in a language of threats. This was a sufficiently clear message to Armenia and the revanchist forces existing there".
