On December 22, a trilateral summit was held in Israel. The summit was attended by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides. The trilateral alliance formed by these states is against Turkey. Greece, Cyprus, and Israel have established an anti-Turkish political and military bloc in the Mediterranean. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed the anti-Turkish nature of the triple alliance with these words: “To those who dream of restoring their empires and establishing dominance over our lands, I say: forget it. It will not happen. Do not even think about it.”

According to **Modern.az**, Elhan Shahinoglu, head of the “Atlas” Research Center, commenting on the trilateral summit, stated that B. Netanyahu, under the phrase “restoration of empires,” referred to Turkey, which is strengthening in the Eurasian region.

"The leaders of Israel, Greece, and Cyprus discussed the creation of joint “military reaction forces” in the Mediterranean. These “forces” will implement “strengthening security” and “military coordination” in the Mediterranean region. The leaders stated at a joint press conference held in Jerusalem that they would deepen cooperation in the fields of security, energy, and defense.

Although it is a known fact that Greece and the Republic of Cyprus pursue an anti-Turkish policy, the initiator of the current triple alliance is Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He is concerned about Turkey's growing role in the region, including neighboring Syria and Iraq. The beginning of PKK's disarmament has also caused concern among Israel's ruling circles. This is because Israeli military and intelligence circles have had secret contacts with armed Kurds in the region for many years," E. Shahinoglu noted.

According to the political commentator, the current situation creates difficulties for Azerbaijan:

"Azerbaijan cooperates with Israel in various fields, purchases modern military equipment from this country, and sells oil to this country. At the same time, Turkey is Azerbaijan's main strategic ally. According to the Shusha Declaration, if Azerbaijan is attacked, Turkey will have the right to defend its ally. Similarly, if Turkey is attacked, Azerbaijan must defend its ally. This means that if the triple alliance formed by Israel carries out any attack against Turkey in the Mediterranean, Azerbaijan will stand by its ally. This, in turn, means that Azerbaijan will be in coordination with its ally in a possible confrontation between Turkey and Israel, Greece, and the Republic of Cyprus. Azerbaijan does not want such a dangerous scenario to materialize. However, regardless of Azerbaijan's wishes, the triple alliance will increase tensions between Israel and Turkey. Unfortunately, Israel, while entering into a confrontation with Turkey, has not calculated the negative impacts of this on its relations with Azerbaijan."
