The Armenian Customs Service will operate in the 42-kilometer section of the Zangezur corridor (Trump route) that will pass through Armenian territory.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Eduard Hakobyan, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia.
Hakobyan noted during his speech in parliament that customs control will be implemented in the corridor, but discussions regarding the details are still ongoing:
“I confirm that the Customs Service will operate. Details are still being discussed. However, our general customs policy is comprehensive, and we are carrying out reforms to simplify trade at all our borders.”
It should be recalled that “Trump Route” is one of the key elements of the peace agreement signed with the mediation of the United States and aims to strengthen trade, transit, and security cooperation in the region.
