An operation continues in Istanbul within the scope of a corruption investigation against municipalities belonging to the Republican People's Party (CHP).
Modern.az reports that this time an operation was carried out in Bayrampaşa municipality.
Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a total of 48 suspects, including Bayrampaşa Municipality Chairman Hasan Mutlu, have been detained.
According to the statement from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the investigation is being conducted on serious charges such as “receiving bribes, giving bribes, and tender fraud.
Based on documents and testimonies, illegal activities of municipal officials and some individuals have been identified. Based on this, the prosecutor's office issued an order for the simultaneous apprehension of the suspects.
Within the scope of the operation, searches were conducted at 72 homes and workplaces.
